Description

This is a long exposure taken at the entrance to an art festival I went to in Vermont over the weekend. The machine in the lower right is a rather large light sculpture titled "Galaxy", it was built by some friends of mine and it uses modulated fiber optics to create an array of changing light patterns. The light on the hill and trees was from a massive flame torch that was being set off at the base of the hill by some crazy pyrotechnic hippies ;] The vertical stone is some sortof sacred pagan altar I was led to believe.

Used two exposures manually blended to keep the foreground from being overexposed, one 15 min for the sky and another at 13 seconds for the foreground. both @17mm ISO320, this was a little tricky because there was tons of people walking by with flashlights and glowstick apparel and it would leave light streaks everywhere, not to mention too many clouds moving by.

edit: tried to fix some of the lighting/noise issues

Dude, your photos are fantastic! Can you please provide us with a tutorial for how to blend photos and exposures?
